Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed that he consumed an extremely large amount of cheeseburgers while filming a State Farm commercial with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“We did a hamburger shoot,” Reid explained to Complex Sports. “I made a pact to myself, just being a cheeseburger connoisseur, that I wouldn’t use the spit bucket. But after about the 60th cheeseburger, I had to go there.”

The three-time Super Bowl-winning head coach also revealed that he had trouble reading his lines to Mahomes during the commercial, as he was required to speak while he was eating.
“Pat’s sitting right in front of me, so I’m trying to do this and there’s cheeseburger flying everywhere at these guys,” he said. “They couldn’t hold a straight face. I mean, they were dying laughing.”
Reid’s love of burgers isn’t exactly a secret, as he brought up the topic after winning his first Super Bowl with the Chiefs in 2020.

When retirement rumors swirled around the 65-year-old head coach prior to Kansas City’s latest championship in 2024, Mahomes didn’t believe the buzz due to Reid’s two main interests.
“He’s all about football and cheeseburgers,” the two-time MVP said, per ESPN’s Adam Teicher.
With Reid still expected to be patrolling the sidelines during the 2024 season, the Chiefs will attempt to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
