Volkswagen sold almost twice as many electric cars last year as the previous year. However, overall sales are weaker

Another place where the carmaker managed to deliver more than a million vehicles was Western Europe, where sales fell by 5.3 percent.

Electric cars are moving

Volkswagen’s plug-in hybrids delivered 106,000 purely electric models last year, 263,000 purely electric models, a year-on-year increase of 97 percent. The total number of 369 thousand electrified models delivered represents approximately 7.5% of all globally delivered cars.
