Volta ao Algarve: David Gaudu vence na Fóia e é o novo líder

O ciclista francês David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) subiu hoje à liderança da Volta ao Algarve em bicicleta, ao vencer a segunda etapa, que terminou no alto da Fóia, em Monchique.

Gaudu foi o mais forte na chegada à contagem de primeira categoria, coincidente com a meta, terminando os 182,4 quilómetros após a saída de Albufeira em 4:50.51 horas, menos um segundo do que o italiano Samuele Battistella (Astana) e do que o britânico Ethan Hayter (INEOS).

Na geral, Gaudu lidera com um segundo de avanço sobre o norte-americano Brandon McNulty (UAE Emirates) e sobre o belga Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl).

Na sexta-feira corre-se a terceira etapa, a mais longa da atual edição da Volta ao Algarve, com uma ligação de 211,4 quilómetros entre Almodôvar e Faro.
