Watch: Lee Sun Bin And Kang Tae Oh’s Expectations Are Shattered In Hilarious Teasers For “The Potato Lab”

tvN’s upcoming drama “The Potato Lab” has unveiled two intriguing character teasers!

“The Potato Lab” is a new romantic comedy drama set in a rural potato research institute. The story follows Kim Mi Kyeong (Lee Sun Bin), a researcher whose life revolves entirely around potatoes, and So Baek Ho (Kang Tae Oh), a cold and principled corporate director. When So Baek Ho unexpectedly enters Kim Mi Kyeong’s world, the two find themselves entangled in a whirlwind romance.

The first teaser introduces Kim Mi Kyeong, who confidently responds, “Of course,” when asked if people actually research potatoes. With an air of expertise, she radiates passion for her work—yet reality paints a slightly different picture.

Despite her bold declaration—“The most modern, confident, professional, perfect researcher—that’s me!”—her daily routine is far from glamorous. Constantly juggling lab experiments and grueling fieldwork, she navigates a chaotic life and teeters between the roles of researcher and farmer. Her boisterous laugh, dramatic outbursts, and occasional scuffles paint a vivid picture of her eventful life.

With six years of potato research under her belt, Kim Mi Kyeong dedicates her life to the world of potatoes. However, the unexpected arrival of So Baek Ho is bound to shake things up in unexpected ways.

So Baek Ho’s teaser also gives a touch of comedic contrast. With his sharp looks and commanding presence, he appears polished and charismatic—seemingly perfect in every way. His bright smile might suggest warmth, but beneath the surface, he is a stickler for rules and order and is a no-nonsense businessman who operates purely by logic.

His confusion is palpable when he stumbles upon the Potato Lab, the lowest-ranked department within Sunyeo Foods. His cold remark—“A company exists to generate profit. I see no reason to take responsibility for those who don’t contribute to that goal”—hints at the impending storm about to hit the research institute.

However, his grand vision of restructuring what he deems as a “useless” sector is quickly shattered. Dragged around, thrown into the dirt, and subjected to a grueling “soul-threshing” welcome, he finds himself hilariously out of his depth. In a place where principles don’t seem to apply, So Baek Ho faces the unpredictable force that is Kim Mi Kyeong. Will he be able to uphold his vow—“I will never break my principles”—or will he find himself swept away by the whirlwind of the Potato Lab?

“The Potato Lab” is set to premiere on March 1 at 9:20 p.m. KST. Stay tuned!
