Whatsapp experts, WABetaInfo have just revealed that, the functionality is under development . With the inclusion of a card shown at the top of the Whatsapp window while browsing other conversations, users will be able to pause, resume, or stop a voice message without having to stay in the conversation. This is particularly convenient in case we want to reply to another conversation while still listening to the voice message.
Unfortunately, this feature is not yet available, not even for beta users. However, we have confirmation that the feature should be available in the near future.
Exactly three months ago, we saw a feature that allows us to hear voice notes when we switch to a different chat (but not only), in WhatsApp beta for iOS, and should arrive in a future update.
In an article from the same time, we clarified that WhatsApp was also planning to introduce the same functionality in the application Android, but there was no news about implementation date. Fortunately, today we can show you something: The ability to listen to voice notes everywhere is under development in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.3.1, and will be included in a future update!
How can you see in the screenshot of screen above, when they start to hear a voice note, and go back to your playlist conversations, WhatsApp shows a new UI that includes the ability to pause, resume, reject the voice note, and a progress bar.
Unfortunately, this is a feature under development, so it’s not ready right away. The global voice memo reader will be released to beta users when it is ready at a later date, so stay tuned as we will have news in a future update!
