After breaking two Guinness World Records, Captain Sir Tom Moore quickly became a household name.
In April 2020 he began his fundraising efforts by walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday with an aim to raise £1,000 NHS.
However, the war veteran didn’t just raise £1,000, he went on to raise much, much more.
Captain Tom sadly passed away at the age of 100, and leaves behind his supportive family including grandson Max.

And Max left Celebs Go Dating viewers in shock recently, as he revealed himself as the grandson of the lockdown legend.
TOWIE star Chloe Brockett, 21, was on a date with the handsome hunk and as they got to know each other, Max shared: “Over the last year and a half, two years, we got closer due to like…
“My, so basically, it’s a weird story but my grandad got extremely famous in the first lockdown.
“You know Sir Captain Tom Moore? So that’s my grandad.”
Chloe was clearly taken aback by the announcement, and playfully said: “So basically, you’re more famous than me and Abz!”
Max Teixeira was forced to miss filming Piers Morgan’s Life Stories with Captain Sir Tom Moore because he was taking part in a golf tournament.

He revealed at the time that it was his grandad who’d given him his first set of golf clubs, when he was four years old.
Max’s mum Lucy Teixeira lives n Caversham near Reading, and her husband, Max’s dad, works as a partner and practice leader at Arthur D. Little, based in London.
Max’s brother Tom was the Junior MP Miami pro worlds champion in 2019, and he can often be found posting photos on his Instagram.
Captain Sir Tom’s grandchildren were the light of his life, and he struggled to hold back tears while talking about them on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.
He said: “I’ve got four grandchildren, and what more could you ask for than that.”
His 16 year old grandchild Benjamin stood by his side as he carried out his 100 laps of the garden and he looked after Captain Sir Tom’s social media and carried out live interviews too.
Max, another grandchild of Tom’s, commented on the achievement saying: “We’re just shocked and proud of him beyond belief.”
