Ohio State Buckeyes fans are waiting for any news on C.J. Stroud, who has to declare for the NFL Draft on Monday, or return to school.
Give C.J. Stroud credit for his theatrics.
While Stroud would be a unanimous top-5 selection in the 2023 NFL Draft — currently ranked second among all quarterbacks behind Bryce Young — it’s no guarantee that he goes pro this offseason. Stroud has unfinished business in Columbus, and the impact of NIL allows him to make a comfortable living while playing for Ohio State, and perhaps getting his degree. It’s a much-welcomed twist in a new era for college football.
With that being said, it would still be a surprise for Stroud NOT to enter the NFL Draft, given the amount of money available to him in any rookie contract.
UPDATE: C.J. Stroud will enter the NFL Draft
C.J. Stroud news: Will he declare for NFL Draft?
It would be a surprise for C.J. Stroud to stay in school another year. At the same time, we don’t know what’s going through his head right now. Stroud is only a few weeks away from a disappointing loss to the Georgia Bulldogs, in which the Ohio State Buckeyes had every chance to win — including one final field goal attempt. Perhaps he wants to right the ship, and bring another National Championship back to Columbus.
Ohio State fans are desperate for C.J. Stroud news
Ohio State fans are understandably scrambling for any sort of Stroud updates. The latest is evidently Stroud liking a social media message about potentially staying in school. There’s no way to verify whether said event actually happened, of course, even though a video was provided.
The only way to fully confirm Stroud’s decision is to hear it from the man himself. Stroud hasn’t committed either way, and Monday is his final chance to do so.
