HBO Max’s “Love Life” is following a new lead for its second season, shifting the focus from the romantic stories of Darby Carter (Anna Kendrick) to Marcus Watkins (William Jackson Harper). In the first trailer for Season 2, we get a sneak peek at just how different two people’s experiences can be, when Marcus’ story kicks off with the breakup of his marriage.
“It feels very divorce-y in here,” Marcus’ friend (played by Chris “Comedian CP” Powell) says when he comes to visit him in his new apartment post-split.
“That’s because I got a divorce,” Marcus deadpans. “No, no, no, it feels like I got the divorce. Like when I walked in it got on me, like it’s in me,” Powell jokes.

Per HBO Max, the second season of “Love Life” follows Marcus Watkins “after his marriage unexpectedly implodes.” He is then “forced to rebuild his life brick by brick, hoping to find a love that will last, once and for all.”
Along with Harper and Powell, Season 2 of HBO Max’s “Love Life” also stars series regulars Jessica Williams and Punkie Johnson. Recurring guest stars include Arian Moayed, Leslie Bibb and John Earl Jelks, and guest stars are Maya Kazan, Ego Nwodim, Kimberly Elise, Blair Underwood, Janet Hubert, Jordan Rock and Steven Boyer. Keith David narrates the season.
Additionally, “Love Life” Season 1 stars Kendrick, Zoë Chao, Peter Vack, Sasha Compére and Nick Thune will be appearing in Season 2.
The first three episodes of “Love Life” Season 2 will debut Thursday, Oct. 28 on HBO Max, with three more released Nov. 4 and the final four dropping Nov. 11.
“Love Life” Season 2 is co-showrun by creator Sam Boyd, Bridget Bedard and Rachelle Williams. Boyd, Bedard and Williams serve as executive producers along with Kendrick, Harper, Paul Feig and Dan Magnante.
The series is produced by Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment.
