The 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards took place on January 27 at the Jamsil Arena, hosted by JaeJae, STAYC’s Sieun, and NCT’s Doyoung.
The Gaon Chart Music Awards are primarily based on the commercial performance of songs and albums based on the national Gaon Music Chart. Artist of the Year is divided into digital music and physical album categories. The digital music awards were given to the song with the highest amount of digital downloads and streaming for each month from December 2020 to November 2021. The physical album awards were given to the albums with the highest sales for each quarter over the same period.
