After carrying out an extensive agenda in Cuiabá (MT), where he was received earlier this week by the assistant secretary of Culture of the State, Jan Moura, to be present with the vice-governor Otaviano Pivetta, in addition to granting an exclusive interview to the Cidadão Consumer program on TV Cidade Verde, the official appointments of the writer Elias Gonçalves arrived this Thursday (13) in Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade, his birthplace.
This Thursday morning (13), Elias Gonçalves met with the Municipal Secretary of Culture of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade, Ednardo Marques de Almeida. On the occasion, the person in charge of the portfolio received the writer at the Palácio dos Capitães Generais, where in the past it was the administrative headquarters of the Captaincy of Mato Grosso.
During his stay at the Palácio dos Capitães, Elias Gonçalves had access to a practical history class about important moments in Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade. The city, founded by Dom Antônio Rolim de Moura on March 19, 1752, was the capital of the Captaincy of Mato Grosso until 1835.
In addition, the secretary Ednardo Marques presented the architectural plan with the foundation of the city, at the time of its construction, strategically planned, to be the capital of the Captaincy of Mato Grosso and following the colonial pattern of the time.
Elias Gonçalves had access to the places where there were copies of historical documents related to the city in which he was born and which are of great importance to the Vilabelense community. Among the collections presented to the writer are the original map of Vila Bela and works of art produced by people who were born in the municipality and who, therefore, carry the DNA of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade in their veins.
During the afternoon, Elias Gonçalves visited the Historical & Archaeological Museum of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade Joaquim Marcelo Prophet da Cruz, where he was welcomed by intern Tânia Coelho de Oliveira. The intern introduced the museum facilities, which contains a significant part of the local history, the way the events took place and the way in which the characters stood out at each moment.
Still this Thursday afternoon ( 13), Elias Gonçalves was received by the mayor of Vila Bela, André Bringsken (MDB) and by the first lady of the municipality, Daiane Fernanda Maria Macedo. The reception took place in the municipal executive’s office and was a milestone in the writer’s life.
The mayor of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade thanked the writer from Jaru for making Vila Bela one of the highlights of his works and , after knowing the magnitude of the work produced by Elias Gonçalves, on behalf of the entire local population, congratulated the writer and said that the municipality is available for whatever is in the hands of the administration.
In In a note sent to the press, writer Elias Gonçalves explained that the visit to the municipality of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade represents not only a visit to one of the most important cities in Brazil, but, above all, a return to one’s origins. Happy with the reception provided by the inhabitants of the municipality, the feeling of gratitude predominates in each word.
