Chinese electronics firm Xiaomi released its Civi smartphone series on Monday. While adhering to the principle of cost performance, the series’ design team has paid more attention to the products’ appearance and imaging, which tend to attract young people the most.

In addition, Yang Qian, a Chinese shooter and member of the “post-00” generation born after 2000, has become the spokesperson of Xiaomi’s new product series.

Wei Siqi, product manager of Xiaomi Civi, said, “The design ideas of Xiaomi Civi are different from the past. Many new attempts have been made to meet the needs of trendy young people and female users. The product team also has more female members, who have more say in user research, imaging, design, the market and other fields.”

Weighing just 166g, the Xiaomi Civi is equipped with a Snapdragon 778G chipset, a 6.55-inch 120Hz FHD+ OLED panel, and a 4,500mAh battery with 55W wired charging. The phone also serves up a triple rear camera system – namely, a 64MP main shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro lens.

The Chinese manufacturer is also bringing a 32MP camera up-front in a center-mounted punch-hole cutout, complete with autofocus. Xiaomi claims that the selfie camera offers “pixel-level” skin restoration capabilities.
