“You won’t regret it” – Guinea’s Ronaldinho urges Trabzonspor to sign 2023 Flying Eagles invitee

Former Turkish champions Trabzonspor have received an enthusiastic endorsement from former Guinean forward Ibrahima Yattara to secure the services of talented Nigerian striker Joel Ideho, Soccernet.ng understands.

The 19-year-old Ideho, who is currently a free agent after being released by Arsenal, caught Yattara’s attention with his impressive skills.

Ideho’s journey in football began at the Ajax academy in October 2020, before he joined Arsenal’s youth team. However, despite spending three years with the Gunners, the club opted not to offer him a professional contract, leaving him without a team for the upcoming season.

Interestingly, Ideho’s abilities captivated Flying Eagles chief coach Ladan Bosso, who invited him earlier this year to join the Nigerian U20 squad for the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Unfortunately, complications in obtaining a Nigerian passport hindered his inclusion in the final squad. Born in the Netherlands to Nigerian parents, Ideho’s eligibility for international competitions relies on the acquisition of a Nigerian passport.

Yattara, who was once likened to legendary Brazilian Ronaldinho by esteemed Spanish coach Luis Aragones, believes that Trabzonspor would be wise to secure Ideho’s signature before he joins another club.

Expressing his confidence in the young Nigerian attacker, Yattara stated“I know Joel. He came to Ajax infrastructure after Willem. From there he moved to Arsenal. Very smart player. Significant potential. Don’t miss it, you won’t regret it.”

During his time at Arsenal, Ideho showcased his prowess by netting eight goals and providing seven assists across 54 appearances for the club’s U18 and U21 teams.
