اسکاٹ موریسن نے ایک غیر ملکی نیوز ایجنسی سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ہم یوکرین میں رہنے والے آسٹریلوی شہریوں کے فیصلے کا احترام کرتے ہیں لیکن ان کے لیے ہمارا مشورہ واضح ہے کہ یہ بہت خطرناک صورتحال ہے اور آپ کی حفاظت کے لیے آپ کو یوکرین چھوڑنے کی ضرورت ہے انہوں نے روس اور یوکرین سرحد پر صورتحال کو انتہائی تشویشناک قرار دیا۔

آسٹریلوی وزیراعظم کا کہنا تھا کہ ہم امن کے خواہاں ہیں لیکن تنازعہ کی صورت میں ہم اس بات کو یقینی بنانا چاہتے ہیں کہ آسٹریلیائی باشندوں کے پاس یوکرین سے خود کو محفوظ مقام پر منتقل کرنے کا اختیار ہو، ہم کئی ہفتوں سے یہ کہہ رہے ہیں۔

واضح رہے کہ گزشتہ چند مہینوں میں مغرب اور یوکرین نے روس پر الزام لگایا ہے کہ وہ حملے کے ارادے سے یوکرین کی سرحد کے ساتھ اپنی فوجیں جمع کررہا ہے۔ ماسکو نے اس پر مسلسل کہا ہے کہا ہے کہ اس کا مقصد کسی کو ڈرانا نہیں ہے اور اس نے روسی سرحد کے قریب ناٹو کی فوجی سرگرمیوں کی طرف توجہ مبذول کرائی ہے جو اس کی قومی سلامتی کے لیے خطرہ ہے۔
