पाकिस्तान के दक्षिण-पश्चिम में बंदूकधारियों ने 20 खनिकों की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी है. इस दौरान सात अन्य घायल हुए हैं. एक पुलिस अधिकारी ने शुक्रवार को यह जानकारी दी. यह अशांत बलूचिस्तान प्रांत में हाल के दिनों में हुआ सबसे भीषण हमला है. यह हमला ऐसे समय में हुआ है जब अगले कुछ दिनों राजधानी में एक प्रमुख सुरक्षा शिखर सम्मेलन से होने वाला है.
पुलिस अधिकारी हमायूं खान नासिर ने बताया कि बंदूकधारियों ने गुरुवार देर रात डुकी जिले में कोयला खदान के पास रहने वाले लोगों के आवासों को घेर लिया और फिर अंधाधुंध फायरिंग शुरू कर दी. अधिकांश लोग बलूचिस्तान के पश्तून-भाषी क्षेत्रों से थे. मृतकों में से तीन और घायलों में से चार अफगान शामिल हैं.

सोमवार को बलूच लिबरेशन आर्मी नामक एक समूह ने कहा कि उसने पाकिस्तान के सबसे बड़े हवाई अड्डे के बाहर चीनी नागरिकों पर हमला किया है. देश में हजारों चीनी काम करते हैं, उनमें से अधिकांश बीजिंग की अरबों डॉलर की बेल्ट एंड रोड पहल में काम करते हैं.
