While the latest collapsible smartphones were launched in August 2021, its sales are already slated to surpass the 1 million unit mark just one month after its announcement.
The new folding smartphones from Samsung, that is, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3, must have large sales in the company’s country of origin. In South Korea alone, sales are expected to exceed 1 million units this weekend.
While the latest collapsible smartphones were released in August 2021, its sales are already slated to surpass the 1 million unit mark just one month after its announcement. This sets an important milestone for folding smartphones, according to industry officials. According to Korea Herald,the pace of sales is similar to that of Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy S8 which were two of the smartphones fastest of the company to reach the 1 million mark in South Korea.
In addition, pre-orders for the new series Galaxy Z of collapsible smartphones reached an impressive 920,000 units in just a seven-day period. Of this remarkable number, 270,000 devices were activated on the first day of the pre-activation period, which is a record number for smartphones 
Galaxy. The popularity of the two newly launched folding smartphones has even led to the extension of the initial activation period for pre-ordered Galaxy Z smartphones.
From now on, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, which is a clamshell-shaped folding device, sold twice as much Z Fold 3 which is the more expensive of the two and which doubles as a book. Both devices have top specs along with the ZFold 3, even offering a selfie camera setup under display on the front.
