Astro’s Sanha and Victon’s Seungsik tested positive for COVID-1
Astro’s Sanha and Victon’s Seungsik have halted future promotional activities on account of testing positive for COVID-19. Fantagio (Astro’s label) updated fans on Sanha’s health via a statement released on fancafe: “Currently, there are no symptoms other than a headache and mild cold symptoms.” The agency’s statement added, “We will focus on [Sanha’s] treatment and recovery according to the guidelines.” On the other hand, IST Entertainment (Victon’s agency) announced that Seungsik had gone into self-isolation after testing positive for the virus. The agency also requested fans who had attended the group’s in-person fan-signing events on January 7th to “use self-test kits” as a precautionary measure.
Viviz announce their comeback
K-pop girl group Viviz will be returning with new music this month. Titled VarioUSthe upcoming release will mark members Eunha, SinB, and Umji’s third EP and will be released on January 31st at 6 pm KST (2:30 pm IST).
Dreamcatcher surprise fans with mystery codes
In classic Dreamcatcher fashion, the girl group surprised fans on January 9th at midnight KST with an intriguing teaser showcasing a series of “special mystery codes.” Stylized as a calendar for January 2023, the teaser image featured YouTube URLs redirecting the audience to the group’s past music teasers. Considering that Dreamcatcher’s anniversary is around the corner, many fans suspect the teaser could potentially hint at a special project or a new music release.
Seventeen’s BSS to make their first-ever comeback
Composed of Seventeen members Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi, BSS have announced their first-ever comeback with a single album scheduled to release on February 6th, 2023. The trio debuted as a sub-unit in early 2018 with the digital single “Just Do It.”
NCT 127 Unveil the Tracklist for their Forthcoming Repackaged Album Ay-Yo
K-pop hitmakers NCT 127 have released gorgeous images and other promotional materials for their upcoming album Ay-Yo. The repackaged album features three new tracks: “DJ,” “Skyscraper” and the title track. American producer Dem Jointz has produced both the title track and B-side song “Skyscraper.” In other news, the group is all set to kick off their U.S. and South America tours today with the inaugural show being held in Johnny’s hometown, Chicago. The engagement includes arena stops across the United States, Chile, Columbia and Mexico, as well as three back-to-back shows in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Vocalist Haechan will be absent from this tour due to health issues.
Super Junior’s Yesung announces the title of his upcoming album
Scheduled to make his solo comeback with his first Korean full-length album this month, Super Junior’s Yesung recently unveiled the title of his forthcoming LP, Sensory Flows. The album will be released on January 25th at 6 pm KST (2:30 pm IST). According to Korean media, the singer has actively participated in the overall planning and music production.
Golden Disc Awards 2023 winners
