Vancouver, B.C. boomed in the post-war period and into the 1950s, and an ambitious plan was developed to move more traffic into the city centre. One key part of the plan involved a new bridge spanning False Creek, the broad inlet that frames the southern side of the downtown core. Granville Street had long carried traffic across on an older bridge; this 1954 film documents the construction of the new Granville Street Bridge.
