Legal Battle Ensues as Nakuru Bambler Challenges Betika Over Winnings

A gambler and the massive betting operator Betika are engaged in a legal dispute over more than 500,000 shillings.

The corporation has been sued by Mr. David Juma, a gambler from Nakuru who won an Sh500,000 jackpot after betting Sh10 on a Betika platform. On February 18, Juma and his brother Collins Kizito bet Sh500,000 on the 8-game Sababisha jackpot at Betika.

Before placing a bet, the two examined the eight games that the betting organisation had listed for prediction. The bettor carefully monitored the games after placing their wager to find out how they would turn out. All of the predictions came true, according to Mr Juma, and they were waiting to claim their prizes.

When they signed on to the website, they were surprised to see that the business had unwittingly said that one match had not been correctly anticipated.

They made the choice to get in touch with the business to attempt and fix the mistake, but their efforts were ineffective. Since then the brothers have been trying to get in touch with the business to fix the mistake but no one from Betika has reached out.

The gamer lamented that the company that had let him down had misled him after he had invested time, money, and energy in studying the games. Mr Juma filed a lawsuit against Shop and Deliver Limited, the business that operates as Betika, in his case at the Nakuru Small Claims Court. He submitted the betting slips and transaction messages from the petition together with the match results as proof. According to Mr Juma, the business’s acts were malicious and in violation of the contract.

The match between FC Juárez and Leon, according to Kizito, ended in a draw.

However, the website claimed that FC Juarez had won the match. Additionally, he claims that he assisted his brother in getting in touch with Betika, who hesitated at paying the money, forcing them to file a lawsuit. In order to receive his profits of Sh500,000 plus interest collected since February 18 and additional damages, he requests that the court issue an order requiring the business to do so right away. Before the hearing on May 8 takes place, the defendant must receive service of the issue, according to Resident Magistrate Edward Otieno.
