Cardano Developers Raise The Stakes With This Latest Update

Cardano developers upped the ante with the release of new node version 8.1.1 in the mainnet. This version fixes earlier issues with P2P/DNS and enhances node performance at the epoch boundary, explained Rick McCracken, the Senior Program Officer [SPO] at Digi StakePool in a tweet.

An improved iteration from the previous v8.0.0 that intends to ease users’ transitions between epochs, or spans of time on the blockchain.

SPOs are recommended to update to the most recent Node version, 8.1.1, emphasizing its suitability for use on the mainnet and the notable enhancements it brings.

It is important to note that Node 8.0.0, the preceding node, established the foundation for the Conway ledger era [Protocol Version 9.0]which marked the beginning of experimental support for the Conway period, also known as the Voltaire period.

For the uninitiated, Cardano’s roadmap can be summed up into five development phases, or “eras.” They include, among others, Byron, Shelley, Goguen, Basho, and Voltaire.

Voltaire is next in line for Cardano’s roadmap. Six additional workshops were convened to concentrate on creating an initial Minimum Viable Governance [MVG] framework, according to the most recent Weekly Development Report.

For the Cardano ecosystem, MVG is a part of CIP-1694 that is considered to be crucial for building participatory governance.

More proposals like CIP-30 and CIP-95 have been introduced to empower ADA holders with voting capabilities.

Once these methods are implemented by wallet providers, the community will be able to democratically voice its approval on questions of governance.

Cardano Developer Restructures Into A “Venture Studio”

The team provided updates on Eclipse Evasion, a tool that boosts scalability while protecting anonymity within the network.

Meanwhile, Input Output Global [IOG]the developer firm has scaled back as it transforms into a “venture studio” with a more condensed core business model.

“IOG has been restructuring into a venture studio where its core is smaller and it has many spin-offs,” Charles Hoskinson said recently.

“As we move into this new business model, we’ve consolidated and eliminated groups that are redundant or not relevant to the new model,” he added.
