According to the results of the July accommodation travel statistics survey (second preliminary report) compiled by the Japan Tourism Agency, the total number of overnight guests increased by 27.9% from the same month of the previous year. Inns increased by 2.9 points, decreased by 13.4 points from 2019 to 25.1%, resort hotels increased by 7.9 points, decreased by 27.8 points from 2019 to 31.8%, business hotels 10.5 points increase, 27.8 points decrease from 2019, 48.3%, city hotels 15.7 points increase, 40.8 points decrease, 39.8%, simple lodgings 4. 19.0%, up 9 points and down 18.0 points from 2019. The highest value in Japan is 53.2% in Shimane prefecture.
The total number of overnight guests in August (first breaking news) increased 6.5% year-on-year to 30.47 million people, a decrease of 51.8% compared to 2019. The number of Japanese guests increased by 5.3% and decreased by 44.4% from 2019 to 29.86 million, and the number of foreign guests increased by 144.9% and decreased by 93.5% from 2019.
