North Grenville has a new acting director of finance/treasurer.

Following the resignation of Brad Brookman on Dec. 24, a familiar face will be taking over the role.

Femi Ogunrinde, who was previously the deputy director of finance/treasurer for the Municipality of North Grenville will be accepting the new role. Ogunrinde was in his previous role with the municipality since September 2020.

“On behalf of council, we would like to thank Mr. Brookman for his service to the municipality and wish him well with his future endeavors,” said North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford, in a prepared statement.

Ogunrinde will immediately assume responsibility for the municipality’s financial management.

“I would like to thank Mr. Ogunrinde for accepting the acting director of finance/treasurer role and continuing to provide us with his financial management expertise,’ said the municipality’s chief administrative officer, Gary Dyke, in a prepared statement.

North Grenville officials said “Ogunrinde is a seasoned financial manager and leader with over 14 years of experience in finance and accounting.”

Before working with the municipality, Ogunrinde held the position of controller with JL Richards, where he managed a budget of approximately $25 million.

He has also been a key contributor for North Grenville during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has worked closely with Brookman and the province to secure COVID recovery funds for municipal operations, said the release.

“His significant knowledge and experience in overseeing major accounting and finance accounts will ensure a smooth transition and move our municipal financial operations forward,” added Dyke.

Ogunrinde will also be in charge of the North Grenville budget process for 2022.

The draft budget book will be presented online on Feb. 10, and two public consultations will be held virtually on Feb. 14 and Feb. 16. The draft budget will be presented on March 2.
