Episode 3 of Police in a Pod starts with Kawai and Fuji meeting Sgt. Minamoto while they’re giving him a speeding ticket, while he’s on a police chase. As soon as Fuji and Minamoto meet, they insult each other non-stop.
An older woman threatens to shoplift unless Sgt. Minamoto comes to see her. Kawai and Fuji try to help, only to be called ugly.
Later at the police box, they get a call about two hoodlums roughing up a teen for money. Arriving at the scene, they see Minamoto and Yamada doing their youth guidance drill on Yuta, the delinquent who hates cops.

Episode 4 Speculations
The best part about the episode was that old lady who was ready to be arrested to see Minamoto. What a spunky old lady.
Fuji and Minamoto absolutely can’t stand each other, but we fans recognize this as the famous “I hate you with all my being, but slowly and surely I will fall in love with you” trope.
This is a typical anime trope, but I would hate for it to come true because it’s more fun if they keep hating each other.

Episode 3 Recap
Kawai and Fuji are seen giving two drivers speeding tickets. Kawai asks the driver if he is in a hurry, and he says yes, it was a police chase.
He asks Kawai to write him a ticket before Fuji finishes, but that doesn’t happen, and the suspect gets away.
Fuji comes over and recognizes the speeding driver as Sgt. Minamoto. They hate each other, so after they exchange insults, they go their separate ways.
As Kawai and Fuji go patrolling in their car, the criminal affairs department calls them to take care of a shoplifter. It is an older woman who says she will shoplift unless Sgt. Minamoto meets her.
She is upset at being handled by two policewomen instead of the dashing Minamoto. She tells them she’s old, her daughter is embarrassed by her, and her grandson won’t even talk to her. So the only joy she gets is by looking at handsome men.
Minamoto, despite being busy, comes to meet her, but with her family in tow. She fights like a teenager, but she shuts up when seeing her grandson. Her grandson apologizes, and she turns into a respectful old lady in the flash of a second.
During lunch, they get a call about two hoodlums robbing a teenager. When they reach the crime scene, it’s just Minamoto and Yamada confiscating cigarettes from a delinquent named Yuta.
His mom collects him from the police, but she pays no mind to him at all.
Later the police box gets a call about an older man dying at home, and they need to conduct an examination. Upon reaching, they see that it’s Yuta’s house and the dead man was his grandpa, making them uncomfortable.
Kawai is squeamish looking at the dead body, and both Fuji and Minamoto ask her to be more respectful. Fuji tells Yuta’s mom that she has taken excellent care of her father-in-law, making her break down in tears.
Yuta realized how hard his mother had worked. Kawai and Fuji see him going to school the next day.
