It is possible, Android Auto can now be used in Tesla vehicles. But of course there is no official version, you have to fall back on projects from modders and developers. We showed you a preview a few months ago, but it was still very tricky. Now there is a newer version that can be used much more smoothly. The developers continue to use the Tesla software browser to display Android Auto.

Tesla prefers its own software

In addition, there is now an Android app called Teslaa, which is offered as “Early Access” via the Google Play Store. That should be the only possibility that you Google Maps and Co. in a Tesla. While other manufacturers are struggling to Android Auto have ever introduced and want to get rid of them, Tesla has kept the competition out from the start.

There are still some issues as the developers of this solution point out. But the project is progressing and has made great strides. The app can currently be used in all Tesla models that support Netflix and Co., because these apps also require hardware acceleration for video.
