In Germany, 96-year-old Irmgard Furchner was detained, who during the Second World War served as the commandant’s secretary and typist in the Stutthof concentration camp. This was reported by the NTV channel.

On September 30, the first court hearing in the Furchner case was to take place. She is accused of complicity in more than 11 thousand murders in Stutthof. In total, about 65 thousand people were killed in this concentration lager, which operated in 1939-1945. outskirts of Hamburg. She did not appear at a court hearing in Itzehoe (Schleswig-Holstein). The court issued a warrant for her arrest.

Furchner was arrested several hours later. Doctors will determine if she can be detained.

Earlier, Furchner said that she would be represented in court by a lawyer. She warned that she would not attend court hearings due to age and health conditions, and also because of her reluctance to “make herself a laughing stock.”
