Adama Traore misses Barcelona training ahead of Espanyol match

Barcelona winger Adama Traore was absent from training on Friday and is a doubt to face city rivals Espanyol this weekend.

The Blaugrana make the short trip to the RCDE Stadium on Sunday as their top-four push continues.

But Xavi may be without one of his new January signings as Mundo Deportivo report that Traore missed Friday’s training session.

The Catalan outlet write that the Wolves loanee sat out preparations with stomach problems and is a doubt to face Espanyol.

However, Barça remain optimistic that Traore will return for Saturday’s training session and will at least play some part in Sunday’s derby.

Xavi will speak to the media following this final training session and is expected to address these reports on Traore’s fitness.

Traore has made a fast start to life back at Barcelona, picking up an assist and turning in an impressive performance in last week’s 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid.

The returning Dani Alves grabbed a goal and was sent off in a thrilling Camp Nou encounter, and he too will miss the match with Espanyol.

Barcelona will also be without Alex Balde, Ansu Fati, Clement Lenglet, Samuel Umtiti and Sergi Roberto, but Memphis Depay could return following a hamstring problem.
