Ladi Adebutu, the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the Saturday, March 18, 2023, Ogun state gubernatorial election remains at large.

But his supporters are not giving up hope on his claimed victory in the election Governor Dapo Abiodun was declared the winner.

Adebutu recently claimed to be on a self-imposed exile over threats to his life while the Police declared that he is a person of interest in an active investigation on irregularities in the 2023 Ogun state gubernatorial election.

Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 276, 298 votes while Ladi Adebutu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secured 262,383 votes.

Adebutu is insisting that he was leading about 33,000 votes more than the 13,915 votes Abiodun used to claim victory before orchestrated violence forced the cancellation of results in areas he is popular.

There are claims that this approach is a sort of strategic play to keep Adebutu and what he stands for in the consciousness of the populace without making him too much of a threat to his adversaries until he “plays his joke” and claim his mandate.
