El cubano Alfredo Despaigne extendió hoy su contrato en la Liga profesional de béisbol de Japón, con los Halcones de Softbank, por espacio de un año, mediante la firma de un acuerdo entre ambas partes.
Tras la rúbrica, Despaigne, uno de los mejores jugadores de Cuba en la última década, manifestó su satisfacción por mantener su carrera en la llamada tierra del Sol Naciente, donde recalcó hay una gran calidad.
Asimismo, habló sobre el reto que tendrá por delante en este año, con una franquicia que dominó el principal certamen profesional de ese país por tres torneos consecutivos (2017-2020) y luego quedó eliminado en 2021.
El jugador, de 35 años, expresó también su deseo de volver a representar a su provincia, Granma, en la Liga cubana de béisbol, además de tomar parte con la selección de su país en eventos internacionales.
Además de Despaigne, este martes el lanzador Liván Moinelo y el tercera base Yurisbel Gracial también renovaron sus respectivos contratos, ambos también con los Halcones de Softbank.
