All You Need To Know About The Harry Potter Special ‘Return To Hogwarts’

2021 was a year where we all needed to see good things happen. Sitting in our homes, we had to rely on shows and movies to get by and feel joy. One of the top highlights, obviously, was the FRIENDS reunion. There sat our favourite stars giving us a peek into one of the most iconic shows. But, little did anyone know that the audience will be getting another special reunion soon. To celebrate 20 years of the franchise’s first film, the team of Harry Potter has reunited for a special titled Return To Hogwarts and here is everything you need to know about it.

Who Is Going To Be There?

HBO Max shared a couple of posters hinting at the cast of this special. Apart from the lead stars — Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, Return To Hogwarts will also star Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis and Evanna Lynch.

Why Is The Reunion Happening?

It’s been 20 years since the first Harry Potter movie released. Of the eight-movie series, the first part, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone released in November 2001. “The retrospective special will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time,” the press release said.

HBO Max released a short teaser earlier featuring alumni like Coltrane (Hagrid) and Lewis (Neville Longbottom) receiving their invitations to attend the reunion.

Harry Potter Return to Hogwarts Release 

HBO Max did not reveal any specific details about the release but they did mention that the special is set to premiere on January 1, 2022.
