Google has released the second Android 14 Beta following yesterday’s I/O 2023 keynote. Android 14 Beta 2 is available across numerous devices from iQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo and Xiaomi, unlike its Pixel-exclusive predecessors.
Google has now confirmed which devices are eligible for Android 14 Beta 2, despite not talking much about its forthcoming OS update. Instead, the company focused on Wear OS 4, various AI improvements, the Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold and the Pixel Tablet. Until now, Google has kept Android 14 public development builds a Pixel affair, with the Pixel 4a (5G) through Pixel 7 Pro eligible.
Presumably, Google will soon add the Pixel 7a to that list, although perhaps not before releasing another beta build. Alternatively, it should now be possible to install Android 14 Beta 2 on various iQOO, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo and Xiaomi devices. At the time of writing, OEMs have brought Android 14 Beta 2 to over 20 devices. The full list of eligible devices is as follows:
- Pixel 4a (5G)
- Pixel 5
- Pixel 5a
- Pixel 6
- Pixel 6 Pro
- Pixel 6a
- Pixel 7
- Pixel 7 Pro
- iQOO
- iQOO 11
- Lenovo
- Lenovo Tab Extreme
- Nothing
- Nothing Phone 1
- Oppo
- Oppo Find N2
- Oppo Find N2 Flip
- OnePlus
- OnePlus 11
- Realm
- Realme GT2 Pro
- Tecno
- Techno Camon 20
- Vivo
- Vivo X90 Pro
- Xiaomi
- Xiaomi 13
- Xiaomi 13 Pro
- Xiaomi 12T
- Redmi K50 Extreme
- Xiaomi Pad 6
Arguably, the only notable absentee from the list above is Samsung, which will run its beta program separately. Samsung has not announced when its next beta program will commence. However, it will undoubtedly fall under the banner of One UI 6. In short, Android 14 should further improve privacy and security features, as well as various camera improvements like adding 10-bit Ultra HDR photo support. Please see Mishaal Rahman’s Twitter thread for the full list of changes that Google has bundled within Android 14 Beta 2.
