A new year’s wave of job changes continues to roll across the region, with Raffles Infrastructure losing its head in Singapore, Jerde’s APAC boss taking over the architecture firm’s top spot globally and Shui On Land continuing to reshape its senior leadership. We also have reports of personnel moves at Warburg Pincus, Keppel, Knight Frank and CBRE.
Raffles Infrastructure Holdings informed the Singapore Exchange this past week that its chief executive officer and executive director, Eric Choo Han Kiat, has resigned from the company effective 31 January. Choo’s resignation comes just a few weeks after Raffles Infrastructure, which had previously focused on road and port construction, had appointed a new deputy chief executive with a background in IT systems, with the company declaring its intent to focus on medical and digital technology infrastructure.
Jerde recently announced that Phil Kim, the US design firm’s Hong Kong-based managing director for Asia Pacific, has been promoted to chair of its board of directors. Kim’s step up to the top spot at the architecture firm comes nearly 23 years after joining the company in Los Angeles. In the same announcement, Jerde said that the company’s managing director for China, Mark Liu, has been appointed board secretary.
Blackstone’s public affairs chief for Asia Pacific, Ellen Bogard seems to have found an upgraded title under her Christmas tree with the PR veteran being named a managing director with the US private equity giant at the start of 2022, after less than three years as a senior vice president. Bogard continues to be based in Hong Kong, where she spent several years with Ogilvy before joining Blackstone in 2019.
Shui On Land has promoted Clarence Lee to senior commercial director as the company opens the new year by reshaping its top management. Lee takes his step up from commercial director three and a half years after joining the developer of Shanghai’s Xintiandi project, with Shui On Land having late last month appointed Jessica Ying Wang as chief executive at the same time that it named Allan Bin Zhang as CEO for its Shui On Xintiandi subsidiary.
Tag Yuxiang has been promoted to principal with the real estate private equity team at Warburg Pincus in Singapore, according to a LinkedIn update. Yuxiang takes his step up just over one year after joining the US fund manager from Blackstone, where he had spent more than eight years with the real estate team. The London School of Economics graduate also has previous experience with Morgan Stanley in London.
Jingjing Yuan has joined Keppel Urban Solutions in Shanghai as deputy head of business development for China, according to a LinkedIn update. Yuan comes aboard with the master development division of Singapore’s Keppel Corporation after five years with French resort developer Groupe Pierre & Vacances in Shanghai, where she served most recently as a vice president with the firm’s Beau Village Tourism joint venture.
Knight Frank Singapore last week announced that it has appointed Chia Mein Mein as its head of capital markets for land and collective sale transactions, replacing Ian Loh, who has left the firm. Chia joins Knight Frank after two years as a director with local property consultancy Delasa (formerly Showsuite Consultancy), and will be in charge of the firm’s land sale and collective sale business.
Johnathan Noone has joined CBRE in Tokyo as a senior consultant with the industrial division of the company’s investment properties unit, according to a LinkedIn update. Noone joins CBRE after just over one year as a vice president with local property consultancy Post Lintel. The graduate of the Cass Business School (now Bayes Business School) at City University of London also has previous experience with Cushman & Wakefield in Seoul and with JLL in Shanghai and Taipei.
