AYANEO has outlined more specifications for the Pocket Air, an Android 12-based gaming handheld powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. The AYANEO Pocket Air will be available with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display and a 7,350 mAh battery within a 380 g chassis, among other features.
AYANEO has now revealed full specifications for the Pocket Air, which the company first teased in January. As we discussed earlier this month, the Pocket Air centres around a 5.5-inch AMOLED. AYANEO has now confirmed that the 1080p panel will offer a 404 PPI with 100% sRGB, 99% DCI-P3 and 96% AdobeRGB colour space coverages.
The Pocket Air will marry its AMOLED display with the Dimensity 1200, a MediaTek chipset found in the GPD XP Plus. Additionally, both components will be powered by a 7,350 mAh battery that contributes to its 380 g weight and 224 x 89.5 x 17 mm dimensions. While battery life estimates remain unknown for now, the combination of an energy-efficient chipset and Android 12 as an operating system should ensure comparatively good battery life.
Moreover, AYANEO has integrated a 3.5 mm jack, dual 6-axis gyroscopes, an x-axis motor, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, a second USB Type-C port for charging and a MicroSD card slot. Elsewhere, the gaming handheld will support Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6 and has an ‘x86 level’ active cooling system to extract peak performance from its Dimensity 1200 chipset. Currently, AYANEO hopes to open Pocket Air pre-orders by the end of August. For now, the device’s Indiegogo campaign page is viewable in preview mode.
