The Azemmour wastewater treatment plant construction and operation project will be launched very soon, in the course of the beginning of October, announced on September 30, the Inter-municipal Autonomous Authority for the distribution of water, electricity and liquid sanitation management in the provinces of El Jadida and Sidi Bennour (RADEEJ).
Carried out within the framework of the national program of integrated liquid sanitation and reuse of treated wastewater , with the contribution of the Ministry of the Interior, the Casablanca-Settat region, in addition to the RADEEJ, This project will require a budget envelope of approximately 142.1 million dirhams.
the RADEEJ specifies that the launch of this project comes after several stages having focused on the realization of the necessary studies of the master plan of liquid sanitation of the city of Azemmour and the cent re Sidi Ali Benhamdouch, and the detailed preliminary design of the said station, followed by the launch of the open call for tenders which aroused the interest and participation of large national and foreign companies, given the importance and the size of the project, and finally with the completion of all the work of the procurement commission consisting in opening the bids of the competitors and the evaluation of the technical files and offers of the bidders, which allowed the selection of the company awarded the contract.
The project will cover an area of 5 hectares and will involve the construction of a wastewater treatment plant that will benefit the populations of Azemmour, Sidi Ali Benhamdouch, Haouzia beach, and surrounding areas. The work will be carried out over 24 months and the project will have to materialize towards the end of 2023, in order to treat some 7,500 cubic meters of wastewater daily, using the activated sludge treatment technique before its release into the natural environment or its reuse for irrigation of green spaces in the city of Azemmour, the northeast region of El Jadida, and the urban center of Mazagan.
