CBS Sports predicts Ravens will sign star OLB in 2022 free agency

The Baltimore Ravens have plenty of needs to fill during 2022 free agency, which will start up in just a few weeks. The team could look to address both sides of the ball as they look to keep up with the rest of the talented teams in the NFL, including multiple in their own division.

Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports put together a list that predicts where 25 big-name players will sign in free agency. For Baltimore, he has the team signing star outside linebacker Von Miller to a one-year, $17 million deal. The veteran has suited up for the Denver Broncos as well as the Los Angeles Rams, and when explaining his reasoning, Benjamin talked about how Miller would become the No. 1 edge option on the Ravens right off of the bat.

“A key piece of the Rams’ Super Bowl rotation, he has the flexibility to be picky at 33, and a big one-year payday allows him a chance to latch onto another contender before re-evaluating in 2023. Baltimore gets itself a plug-and-play No. 1 edge man.”

Miller has been one of the best pass rushers in the NFL for a long time, accumulating 115.5 sacks during his 11-year career. He would boost a Baltimore outside linebacker group that has struggled to sack the quarterback consistently over recent years, and would provide leadership off of the field as well. However, money will be a big factor in determining whether the Ravens have a chance at signing the veteran, as well as how ready Miller would be to leave the Rams, who he just helped win a Super Bowl
