Service Exporters’ Association (HIB) announced the export champions of the sector for 2020. 51 companies in the top three in 17 categories consisting of sub-sectors within the body of the association received their plaques for their success. HİB President İlker Aycı said, “Despite being the youngest exporter union in Turkey, we managed to increase our membership to over 2,000 in a short time and to increase our exports to the level of 46.2 billion dollars despite the devastating conditions of the coronavirus pandemic. Our industry has also signed a foreign trade surplus of over $21 billion this year.” Defining the services sector, known as the ‘soft power’ of our country with the name of ‘flueless industry’, as a ‘strategic power’, Aycı said, “Our services sector will evolve into a global brand thanks to the successes it has achieved and the transformations to be planned, and will constitute a strong source for full economic independence, and our target is 150 billion dollars in the short term. We will reach our goal of exporting dollars”.
