Firaxis Games Studios and 2K are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Sid Meier’s Civilization. As a result, fans can expect new gaming challenges, fun surprises and “amazing offers” (here the developers certainly meant solid promotions). All this is expected to happen in the next few months. However, neither the developers nor the publishers have revealed the details of the potential new content yet. At the moment, we have to be content with a blog entry from Meier himself and a less than two-minute jubilee video that summarizes all the games in the series so far.

The latest installment of the series, Civilization VI, was released in 2016, and in June received a special edition that includes all expansions and post-release content. Who knows, maybe the announcement of the new version will be the icing on the cake of the currently celebrated 30th anniversary?
