The Board of Spokespersons of the Congress unanimously agreed to designate a commission to talk with the president Pedro Castillo about the announcement made by the head of the Ministerial Cabinet, Guido Bellido, to raise a question of trust in the case of the Minister of Labor, Iber Maraví, if necessary after his interpellation in the Legislative.
Through a statement, they indicated that it was necessary to talk “today” with the president and that he should comment on the position of the Government after the statements of the head of the Council of Ministers.
“We demand President Pedro Castillo to pronounce clearly and firmly on the position of your Government regarding the premier’s statements ; For that purpose, we have appointed a commission to talk today with the President of the Republic and thus avoid a political crisis with serious consequences for our country. ”, they stated in their statement.
Political control
In that line, they rejected the announcement made by Guido Bellido , because the Constitution empowers them to question ministers as an instrument of political control. In addition, they ratified their commitment to democracy and the defense of parliamentary jurisdiction, following the statements of the head of the Ministerial Cabinet.
“The board of spokespersons, in a unanimous agreement, rejects the statements by Prime Minister Guido Bellido, who threatened to present a question of confidence for the interpellation of Minister Iber Maraví, ”they said.
Interpellation and announcement of the Executive
The minister will be questioned this Thursday for being linked to Shining Path, in addition to his relationship with Conare-Sutep. In total there will be seven questions on these issues that Maraví will have to answer before the national representation.
At a press conference, the head of the Council of Ministers, Guido Bellido , indicated that if necessary they would raise a question of trust by Iber Marav í, in case you want to censor it. He also added that he will accompany the Minister of Labor to the interpellation in Parliament.
“The Congress of the Republic is summoning the Minister of Labor, Iber Maraví . Our absolute support, I will accompany him and if necessary we will ask for a question of trust, such as a Council of Ministers must be, where there is full solidarity because this responds to a political issue ”, he said.
As specified, the Congress has no basis to carry out the interpellation and added that it is a political issue, since there are sectors that are not in according to the appointments made by the president Pedro Castillo in the ministries.
