‘Dancing With the Stars’ Week 5, Night 2: Gabby Windey and Wayne Brady Earn First Perfect Scores of the Season as [Spoiler] Goes Home

(SPOILER ALERT: This article reveals the team that was sent home on Tuesday, Oct. 18)

Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” continued the theme of “Star Stories” with a prom-centric evening, while Jessie James Decker and Alan Bersten were crowned King and Queen after surviving a “last pair standing” dance marathon.

Former “Bachelorette” star Gabby Windey and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy earned the first perfect score of the season for their Tango to “Good Girls Go Bad” by Cobra Starship ft. Leighton Meester.

Not long after, Wayne Brady’s spirited and soulful hip-hip samba with partner Witney Carson to “It Takes Two” not only scored the night’s second 40, but also earned an incredibly rare standing ovation from judge Len Goodman.

Heidi D’Amelio and Joseph Baena both ended up in the bottom two after factoring in all the judges’ scores, audience votes and marathon rankings. The decision came down to judge Len Goodman, who opted to save Heidi and her partner.

Baena said he’s not going to stop learning to dance and that “this experience has meant so much to me. I’m very happy.”

Trevor Donovan, who’s frequently landed in the bottom two on the leaderboard, danced a punk Jive to “Basket Case” by Green Day with partner Emma Slater and was thrilled to land an 8 from all four judges,

Once again, fans saved “Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino and his partner Koko Iwasaki. As judge Derek Hough said after their Viennese Waltz, their dance wasn’t perfect, but the audience loves them. He praised Vinny for always bringing joy and energy to the dance floor.

At the top of the show, co-host Tyra Banks mentioned Selma Blair, who announced on Monday night that she was leaving the competition to focus on her health, saying, “We are all so heartbroken that she’s no longer a part of this competition. She brought so much joy and so much inspiration to all of us with both her performances and her fighting spirit and [is such a] beautiful human being. Selma, we know that you’re watching tonight and we wish you well, we wish you so much love.”

The “Hellboy” star was originally set to dance a Cha Cha with partner Sasha Farber to “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor on Tuesday.

Among the personal prom stories shared by the stars: 18-year-old Charli D’Amelio’s high school prom was just four months ago; Wayne Brady got dumped by his date; Vinny Guadagnino skipped his; and Jordin Sparks danced to her own song, “No Air,” at hers, which was her soundtrack again.

Based on judges’ votes alone, Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas remained at the top of the leaderboard for their three dances this week, while Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart joined Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki at the bottom of the board.

Leaderboard for Nights 1 and 2 of Week 5:
