Finally it’s Shamiko’s chance to shine, because a new preview video has been published for the upcoming second season of The Demon Girl Next Door (known in Japan as Machikado Mazoku 2Chome), the ongoing adaptation based on the supernatural comedy manga by Izumo Ito about a young girl awakens to her family’s dark powers and then inadvertently befriends the local magical girl.
The original The Demon Girl Next Door manga is published in Japan by Houbunsha in their Manga Time Kirara Carat seinen manga magazine. An English language version is available from Seven Seas Entertainment. HIDIVE currently streams the first season of The Demon Girl Next Door and describes the story as follows:
Yuko Yoshida is just an ordinary schoolgirl — until Lilith unleashes her dormant, devilish powers. Now Yuko must defeat Momo Chiyoda, the shrine maiden of the Light Clan who just so happens to go to her school!
The Demon Girl Next Door is directed by Hiroaki Sakurai and features animation production by J.C. Staff. The second season of the series will broadcast in Japan on Tokyo Broadcasting System on Thursdays during the 25:58 time slot (actually on Friday morning at 1:58am JST) beginning on April 07, 2022, and on BS11 on Fridays during the 23:30 time slot beginning on April 08. 2022.
