Details on Latest BYD Han EV Leaked, Range Increased to 715 Km

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on January 30 released the latest batch of new energy vehicle models exempt from certain purchase taxes, including the new BYD Han EV.

According to published details, the maximum cruising range of the new BYD Han EV has been upgraded from the current model’s 605 km to 715 km. There is also a model with a cruising range of 610 km, and all versions are equipped with 85.44 kWh power battery packs.

In terms of power, the model with a range of 610 km is equipped with front and rear dual motors, with maximum power of 180kW and 200kW, respectively, and peak torque of 350 Nm. The model with a range of 715 km is equipped with a front single motor featuring maximum power of 180 kW and peak torque of 350 Nm.

In terms of appearance, the new model still adopts the brand-new BYD Dragon Face design with a semi-closed front face design. The grille area has increased, and it has a slender air inlet-like part near the logo. In addition, the size of the front air inlet is larger, while the shape of the headlight set has not undergone significant changes.

On January 3, BYD announced its sales volume for December 2021. Data show that the company sold 97,990 passenger cars in the month, up 77.9% year-on-year. Moreover, the number of new energy passenger cars increased by 236.4% year-on-year to 92,823.

Among them, the BYD Han series sold 13,701 vehicles in December, maintaining solid momentum. During the year, the sales volume of the BYD Han series exceeded 10,000 in a single month six times, and the cumulative sales volume of the BYD Han series exceeded 117,000 vehicles for the whole year, ranking first in the sales volume of medium- to large-sized cars under Chinese brands.
