Díaz-Canel visits production centers in Cuba

Havana, Oct 7 (Prensa Latina) President Miguel Díaz-Canel visited today the Cooperativa de Creditos y Servicios March 13, in the western Mayabeque province, in the context of the government strategy to boost Cuban food production.

According to the Twitter of the Presidency, on that site the president spoke with Jesús Lazo, a prominent livestock producer, whose This effort has allowed him to obtain results above the country’s average.

Lazo is, in effect, one of the most successful livestock owners in the nation, who last month of August informed Díaz-Canel about setbacks he faced in selling his production in foreign currency, before which the president took note and assured that he would systematize these types of meetings.

This Thursday, the Cuban head of state also went to the Havana municipality of Guanabacoa and verified the production of hygiene and cleaning articles, including soap products and disinfectants, made by workers of the local development project Hands useful for the home.

According to the Presidency of the Republic, on that site the head of state insisted on the need to achieve a greater chain of prod active among various actors in the economy.

Díaz-Canel also visited the headquarters of the Palomas Project, in the capital, where he recognized the work of that audiovisual production house that promotes gender equity and social inclusion through its materials.

The initiative encourages the production of works and workshops focused on groups in vulnerable situations, such as women victims of violence, transgender people, older adults, children, adolescents, youth and people with any disease.
