Microsoft deployed in 2017 Dolby Atmos audio technology on its Xboxes. A year later, its consoles embraced the Dolby Vision standard to deliver even more flattering HDR in streaming video. After 6 months of testing with members of the Insider program , Microsoft is happy to announce that the Dolby Vision standard is now arriving officially on Xbox Series XIS … and this time for our games.

The firm promises in its press release that more than 100 next-gen titles, current and future, will be optimized to support the HDR standard carried by Dolby. And Microsoft goes even further: the firm promises in particular that titles in HDR10 or SDR (via the Auto HDR function) will also be able to benefit from an equivalent of Dolby Vision thanks to an automatic improvement of the image managed directly by the console. . It remains to be seen whether this function will not only lead to ersatz Dolby Vision content, with the aim of artificially inflating the catalog of “compatible” titles offered on Xbox.

Microsoft indicates in its press release that Halo Infinite, expected on December 8, will be among the first Xbox titles to benefit from native support for this standard.

Support for the Dolby Vision standard in The game has been deployed on Xbox Series XIS since September 28, through a software update.
