The high hopes held for the eFootball 2022 were quickly dashed as a strong wave of criticism came its way for some awful graphics.
eFootball 2022, the free-to-play rebrand of PES from Konami, officially launched on September 30. After taking a year out to develop the game, Konami hoped it would rival EA Sports’ FIFA series.
Instead, all it did was give fans even more reasons to buy FIFA 22.
The game’s quality and shabby graphics were a huge letdown for the gamers. They shared pictures on social media showing the world just how far off the mark Konami were with the footballers.
Out of 10,884 reviews at the time of writing on Steam, only 984 (9%) of them were positive. In Steam’s own words, the reviews were ‘overwhelmingly negative’.
“This is a joke, worst game I’ve ever played, already uninstalled, psychological horror game, even worse than I expected,” were just some of many nasty remarks fans had for Konami.
A review from Eurogamer even reveals developers said there would be nine clubs available as part of the launch, yet there were plenty of teams – albeit with fake names.
The Japanese gaming firm has kept quiet about these horrendous graphics and reviews so far.
Here are some of the pictures on social media of the game.
