The first episode of the second season of Euphoria, a series starring Zendaya, broke the record for most watched debut content of HBO Max. Aired last Sunday (9), the episode was viewed 2.4 million times on the streaming service alone.
According to a survey by HBO Max, the episode became the chapter of most watched debut on the platform since its launch in May 2021.
Euphoria is produced by HBO in partnership with A24, responsible for films such as O Farol (2019). Created by Sam Levinson, the series portrays a group of teenagers dealing with issues such as drugs, sex and identity.
The plot is based on an Israeli series of the same name and won Zendaya the Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series, 2020.

The production returned with new episodes this week , after a wait of almost two years. In the meantime, HBO released two special episodes, in late 2020 and early 2021. The cast also has Hunter Schafer, Colman Domingo and Sydney Sweeney .
