The Eurovision Song Contest will take place next year in Turin, Italy. The organizers, quoted by the AFP news agency, announced this on Friday. Italy will host the 66th edition of the competition in May after the current year was won by the Italian rock band Maneskin in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The event, which was seen by 183 million people, brought Italy the third victory in Eurovision and the first in three decades. Turin succeeded in competing with 16 other Italian cities to host Eurovision 2022.
The event will take place in the local multifunctional arena Pala Alpitour. The semifinals are scheduled for May 10 and 12, 2022, the finals for May 14. Turin will follow in the footsteps of Naples, which hosted the Eurovision in 1965, and Rome, where the event took place in 1991.
The requirements for organizing a Eurovision are strict – the host city must to provide an air-conditioned arena with a capacity of 10,000 people in the main hall and other facilities for the background. , is a “perfect host city”.
