Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a pipeline of 127,000 rooms by the end of 2023, representing nearly 40% of Hyatt’s existing room portfolio while marking a milestone in its growth strategy for 2024 and beyond.

By 2025, Hyatt aims to add over 35 hotels globally within its luxury brands.

はづ別館、なぜ「客が値決めするシステム」は終了したのか…30年間で得た知見

「はづ別館HP」より 現在、広まりつつある、Pay as you wish(Pay as you like/あなたのお好きな価格を支払ってください)という決済システムの、日本における元祖的存在である「はづ別館」。その「はづ別館」を運営する株式会社はづ・代表取締役会長・加藤浩章氏へのインタビューに基づく、連載記事の第3回目である。 ・第1回 『客が値段を決める宿・はづ別館、経営の秘密…客・旅館側、双方の納得感が向上』 ・第2回 『はづ別館、客が値段を決めるシステム導入の驚異的影響…年間120本の取材依頼』  はづ別館の適正価格がいくらなのかは、難しい問題である。しかし、安定した経営を継続していくには、1泊2食付で1万~1万5000円程度以上は必要になると思われる。では、実際に宿泊客が付けた価格はいくらであったのか。  客が値付けするシステムの詳細は、まずチェックイン時に「泊まって、感じたままの価値観で……朝、お書き入れ下さいませ」と書かれた用紙が客に渡される。その用紙に客が価格を書くわけである。また、「感じたままの感想をぜひどうぞ。(お気づきの点、何なりとご記入ください)」という欄もある。裏面には氏名・住所・年齢・職業を記入するようになっている。  ここに記載されている実際の価格を見ると、100円から15万円と幅は極めて大きいものの、平均すると1万円は大きく超えている。ちなみに、15万円など高額な料金を付けた客に対しては、あらかじめ決めている上限の金額を受け取り、超えている部分は受け取らないというルールになっていた。  また、関東・中部・関西など、客の居住地域による価格差という特徴も確認できる。たとえば、関東からの客は全般的に価格が高く、関西からの客は値付けの幅が大きい。加えて、年齢・性別・職業などによる傾向の違いも確認できる。  加藤氏は、このシステムを採用してから30年を経て、人と地域性いうものが本当によくわかるようになったと語っている。  ちなみに、「大変満足だった」と記入しながらも5000円程度の価格を設定する客や、極めて稀ではあるが、冷やかしのような価格を設定する客のリピート利用、低額の常連客の利用に関しては、予約受付の際、はづ別館側から適正と思われる額を提示することもあったという。
