Warner Bros. Pictures has released the official final trailer for filmmaker Denis Villeneuve’s big-screen adaptation of the classic Frank Herbert novel “Dune”.
Having already been rolled out in some global markets where it has already crossed the $100 million mark, the film arrives in U.S. and Chinese cinemas on October 22nd along with being available for U.S. HBO Max subscribers the same day.
The first of two proposed films based on the first book, the story is set in the distant future and follows Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) whose noble family accepts control of the desert planet Arrakis.
As the only planet capable of producing the highly valuable resource known as the spice melange which allows for space travel, control of Arrakis is highly contested amongst the noble families.
When the Atreides are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship to nature as a betrayed Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s control of Arrakis.
Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Jason Momoa, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Stephen McKinley Henderson also star.
