“All the promises of God were fulfilled in Christ with a resounding Yes!” (2 Corinthians 1:20 NLT)
Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of all God’s promises to us. Not that these promises were emptied on the cross, but on the cross we are sure that they are already fulfilled, because everything will pass, except the Word of God.
Knowing this, we must look to Jesus Christ and keep our heads up. Hold on to the promises of God in the Bible, for they will be fulfilled in you. Therefore, hide all of them in your heart so that they can serve as an encouragement for the future.
In the same sense, when the enemy comes to try to put doubts and fears, take back those forgotten promises, knowing that they are already fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Stand firm in these promises to withstand temptation.
There is a praise of Christian Harp with this title: “Firm in the promises”. In a way, this praise reflects everything we need to not forget what God has promised. In other words, it points to Jesus Christ as the guarantee of our faith.
In one passage, he tells us:
Firm in the promises of the Lord Jesus
In love connected with his cross Every day I rejoice more in the light, yes
Steady in the promises of Jesus
