The first trailer has been released for the Jerry Seinfeld-directed film “Unfrosted” about the creation of Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts.
Set in 1963 Michigan and inspired by a segment in Seinfeld’s “23 Hours to Kill” stand-up special, the silly story unfolds as sworn cereal rivals Kellogg’s and Post race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever.
Seinfeld will star in, write and direct the movie which is described as “a tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen”.
The film is packed with stars including Seinfeld himself as the boss of Kellogg’s along with Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Hugh Grant, Amy Schumer, Peter Dinklage, Max Greenfield, James Marsden, Christian Slater, Bill Burr, John Slattery, Dan Levy, Fred Armisen, Tony Hale, Drew Tarver, Maria Bakalova, Cedric the Entertainer and Jon Hamm.
Seinfeld co-wrote the script with Spike Feresten, Andy Robin, and Barry Marder. Seinfeld and Feresten also produces the movie alongside Beau Bauman.
“Unfrosted” will stream on Netflix from May 3rd.
