Unit 2 is 26 Scheduled flights have ended on JL2740 from Hakodate to Okadama. Initially, we planned to operate 4 flights for 2 round trips on the Okadama-Hakodate line and the Semmo line, but due to the influence of snowfall, only JL2741 flight from Okadama to Hakodate and the same return flight will be operated, and it will be inside Okadama Airport after noon. Cleaning work was done by volunteer employees in the hangar.

The flight to Kagoshima was scheduled for the next 27th, but it was postponed due to heavy snowfall. Taking advantage of this flight, we planned to travel south to the Japanese archipelago for about 8 hours via Misawa Airport and Chubu Airport (Centrair), but it was canceled.

On the 29th, we left Okadama at 9:39 am as a ferry flight (deadhead flight) that does not carry passengers. It took off at 12:43 and arrived at the stopover Hakodate at 10:20 am. After refueling, we left at 10:57 am and arrived at Kagoshima at 2:43 pm.

Captain Satoru Kuroda and First Officer Jun Harasawa are in charge of maneuvering. The total number of cycles at the end of regular flights on the 26th was 62,543 cycles, and the total flight time was 39,177 hours and 42 minutes.

HAC was established on September 30, 1997 as the third sector by the former Japan Air System (JAS, now JAL) and Hokkaido, and the first route, Sapporo (New Chitose) -Hakodate, was established in March 1998. It went into service on the 28th. After JAS merged with Japan Airlines (JAL / JL, 9201), it became a subsidiary of JAL, but JAL temporarily withdrew from management in March 2011 after the bankruptcy. After the reconstruction, it became a subsidiary again in October 2014, and has been operating under the JAL flight number since October 30, 2016.

Unit 2 was delivered on May 7, 1998, and the first flight of the current painting depicting JAL’s Tsurumaru painting was on April 28, 2016. It was flight 233 from Okatama to Hakodate. Of all three Saab 340Bs, it was first repainted with Tsurumaru paint.

Unit 3 (JA03HC) has been retired on December 29, 2020, and Unit 1 (JA01HC) has been retired after the last flight on September 6, this year. The successor, ATR 42-600 (48 seats), was completed in November with all three aircraft. After arriving in Kagoshima, Unit 2 will be sold and maintained by Japan Air Commuter (JAC / JC), which is also outsourced by HAC to maintain the serve in the JAL Group.

C & L Aerospace, a subsidiary of the US C & L Aviation Group, which purchased all HAC serves, was the first to retire 3 Unit is being refurbished to a freighter.
