Through 2 Quarters
Down three at the end of last quarter, the Fresno State Bulldogs have now snagged the lead. At halftime neither squad has the contest in the bag, but Fresno State leads 14-10 over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. The Bulldogs have been led by WR Zane Pope, who so far has caught three passes for two TDs and 91 yards.
Fresno State has been riding high on the performance of Pope, who has caught three passes for two TDs and 91 yards. Pope’s performance is making up for a slower matchup against the UNLV Rebels last week.
Fresno State and Hawaii came into this game with previous-game wins. We’ll see if Fresno State can maintain their lead to polish off another win and cancel out Hawaii’s positive energy.

What to Know
The Fresno State Bulldogs and the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will face off in a Mountain West clash at 11 p.m. ET Oct. 2 at Clarence T.C. Ching Complex. These two teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games.
Fresno State was able to grind out a solid win over the UNLV Rebels last week, winning 38-30. The victory came about thanks to a strong surge after the first quarter to overcome a 14 to nothing deficit. QB Jake Haener and WR Jalen Cropper were among the main playmakers for the Bulldogs as the former passed for five TDs and 378 yards on 41 attempts and the latter caught ten passes for four TDs and 108 yards.
Fresno State’s defense was a presence as well, as it got past UNLV’s offensive line to sack the quarterback four times for a total loss of 21 yards. The heavy lifting was done by DT Kevin Atkins and LB Arron Mosby, who each racked up 1.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, Hawaii didn’t have too much trouble with the New Mexico State Aggies on the road last week as they won 41-21.
Fresno State is the favorite in this one, with an expected 10.5-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread last Friday might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
The wins brought the Bulldogs up to 4-1 and the Rainbow Warriors to 2-3. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Fresno State is stumbling into the game with the 198th most touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 14 on the season. Hawaii has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 241st worst in the nation in touchdowns allowed, with 19 on the season. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
